Wath All Saints Parish Church

Here for more than 1000 years as a sign and symbol of God’s love and welcome for all.

My Dear Friends

The message from HM Government is clear: please stay at home.  If you have need of anything and find that for whatever reason you cannot obtain it, then please contact me as there are a number of people who are willing to offer help.

We have been informed that we have to close our Church building and to keep it closed.  There are to be no more Baptisms or Weddings for the time being.  Please pray for the mercy and deliverance of God, and for those in our community who are in need.  Please care for the vulnerable and be gentle with yourself.  Please do what you can, even from home, even while you are separated from family, friends and neighbours, to show your love and support for them.  The Church is not a building, but a body of people and this present situation does not stop us functioning as that body, showing forth the love of God whenever and wherever opportunity comes.

It is our intention to send out an email with some ‘thoughts for the day’ covering the next 7 days [probably on Wednesday evening], & possibly even to record us actually speaking those same thoughts so that the link can go on the Website & Facebook [I have had a practice at this & I can see why I did not take up acting!!].  We will also send out some links to Churches that are streaming their services. (edit: see our weekly video services and thoughts for the day pages)

Apart from keeping in touch with those we know are particularly isolated and vulnerable there is not much more that we can do at this time.  But we can pray, read the scriptures and keep in contact with others.

And now may the peace of God, which passes all understanding, keep your hearts and minds in the knowledge and love of God and of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.  And the blessing of God Almighty, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, be among you and remain with you always.

Every Blessing

Mission Statement

All Saints Church in the Parish of Wath upon Dearne is a place where we share Christ’s hospitality, open for all to come and worship God and to pray, to give thanks and to celebrate, to seek help and find comfort and to offer themselves in discipleship and service. We are seeking to follow the way of Christ, to be His body on earth in this time and place, as we involve ourselves in the life and work of the local community and watch for opportunities to live and proclaim God’s Kingdom. This prayer inspires us.

Christ has no body now on earth but ours;
No hands but ours, no feet but ours;
Ours are the eyes through which Christ’s compassion
is to look out to the earth;
Ours are the feet by which He is to go about doing good;
And ours are the hands by which He is to bless us now. Amen

St. Teresa of Avila

Protecting People

Our PCC and all who serve here seek to promote the wholeness of the person within God’s loving purpose for us all. Our aim is to create a safe place for every member of the Church community, whatever their age. We understand that it is the responsibility of each one of us to protect children, young people and adults from physical, emotional and sexual abuse, and from neglect.
